The Museum was established in 2016 as a charity registered with the Charity Commission, and is governed by a Board of Trustees.

Volunteers
As our charity approaches our 10th birthday in August 2026, we have an ambitious Forward Plan for greater public engagement and understanding of policing. Our brilliant volunteer team meets and greets the public at the mini-Museum in Tavistock, research and writes the stories in Exeter, and looks after all the old police equipment in Okehampton. You could join them – just complete the volunteer form here and we’ll get the kettle on for a natter.
