Friday 27th March saw the Devon and Cornwall Police and the Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall launch their annual police staff awards, with the support of generous sponsors across the southwest.
The ‘Oscars of Policing’, the “Recognition of Excellence Awards” pinpoint and celebrate great police work going on in the southwest, often unrecognised amidst the day-to-day hustle and bustle of society and policing.
Chief Constable James Vaughan QPM, Museum Chair Bill Skelly QPM, and Museum Patron John Casson MBE were joined by newly ‘Designated’ PCSO’s (Police Community Support Officers) and their families after their Designation Ceremony at Middlemoor, police HQ in Exeter.
Bill Skelly said:
The ‘Recognition of Excellence in Policing Awards’ are supported by the generous sponsorship of local, regional and national organisations, and we’d like to thank them for their support. Our sponsors are in partnership with a critical service that is highly regarded and valued both in the United Kingdom and internationally.
The police embody a high level of social value and responsibility, which businesses with aligned values can connect to through this event. By sponsoring businesses are supporting excellence in public service with the excellence of their own brands, and success stories.
