Friday 12th June 2026 sees the 3rd annual “Recognition of Excellence in Policing” awards event, at Sandy Park Conference & Banqueting Centre, Exeter, organised by the Museum of Policing in Devon & Cornwall.
The event has fast become an annual staple. These awards acknowledge the exceptional efforts that go into keeping communities safe, bringing perpetrators to justice, and protecting victims. Nominees are sought from across the Force each year, plus by the nomination of external partner agencies.

People do not always get the credit they deserve for going that extra mile, especially in highly complex and challenging police specialisms, some of which need to remain confidential outside the awards. It is humbling to hear their stories of exceptional work which can be taken for granted, or otherwise go unrecognised.
It is an opportunity to celebrate officers and staff from all areas of the Force who serve the people of Devon & Cornwall with energy and commitment. It is also the time to honour exceptional acts of bravery, innovation and resolve.
The achievements of today form part of tomorrow’s policing history, which is why the awards are organised by the Museum. Any surplus created by the event supports the work of the Museum preserving the heritage of policing in the region (registered charity #1168731).

The awards can only take place through the generosity and vision of our sponsors, supporting excellence in public service with the excellence of their own brands, and their organisation’s success stories.
