The Museum team is delighted to announce its new exhibition “Policing Plymouth 1892 – 1929” to be experienced at Tavistock Guildhall Heritage Centre for the whole of the month of July 2026.
Explore the life and times of two of the great innovating and reforming Chief Constables of the Victorian period and early C20th, and learn more of their impact on Plymouth, traces of which can still be explored today.
The exhibition also features the drama-documentary film “How do you solve a problem like Plymouth”, courtesy of our friends at the University of Plymouth and Timelock Productions.
The exhibition is an excerpt from the full show staged at Royal William Yard in May so, if you missed it then, here’s another opportunity.
We are grateful to the TGHC for asking us to bring this to Tavistock. The Guildhall is open from 10.00-16.00 Monday to Saturday.
Don’t forget our adjacent Mini-Museum, too, under the archway in Bedford Square, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11.00-15.00.
The exhibition is FREE to explore though, if you like what you see, donations are appreciated.
